When you find yourself behind the wheel of a Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the urge to spend your time pulling drag races can be extremely difficult to resist. And we're here to bring you the freshest drag strip episode involving such a Mopar machine.
The 707-pony Dodge decided to duke it out with a Nissan GT-R and, as we mentioned above, we're fortunately dealing with a battle that takes place on a prepped surface.

Each of the two vehicles had an ace up its sleeve fender, but while the Dodge had simply dropped its standard rubber for a pair of drag radials, Godzilla came with plenty of mods.

The Nissan had been gifted with full bolt-on goodies, with the list of custom work being led by an E85 setup. As a result, the Nissan had gone from the mid-500 crank horsepower range to delivering 600 ponies at the wheels.

Given the Japanese machine's visit to the gym, we could call the Dodge's effort an extremely brave one. For the sake of comparison, we'll drop the Dodge-provided quarter-mile figures of the Challenger Hellcat here: while the standard tires allow the blown 6.2-liter vehicle to complete the 1,320 feet sprint in 11.2 seconds, turning to drag radials should bring that time to 10.8 seconds.

As with any such drag brawl, the aural side is an important component of the battle and this is the side of the drag race that saw the muscle car winning even before the Christmas Tree was lit.

It's worth noting that, despite the massive differences between the Challenger Hellcat and the Nissan GT-R, the two velocity tools have one important aspect that brings them together. Both are the kind of bang-for-buck heroes that have managed to gain a cult status, even though the Nissan halo car shies away from its affordable aura with each new model year.
