Der Neue C-Klasse Von Brabus

Which brand pops into your head when you say Brabus? Mercedes of course, because this is their main occupation and pleasure. They like to tune and tweak Mercedes-Benz, smart and Maybach models, and everybody agrees that they do a good job. This time, the new C-Class' turn has come, the German tuner introducing a sport program to increase the power of the new sedan.

The new C 280 and C 350 can get a new 4.0 liter engine, this being achievable by taking the Mercedes 3.5 Liter V6 and fitting it with a special crankshaft and larger cylinder bore. Tampering with the four valve cylinder heads can improve gas flow, and for some extra power, C Class models can receive a new stainless steel high performance exhaust system. To top it all, the engine electronics need to be reprogrammed, and most (including Brabus) would agree.

After all these alterations are complete, the C Class can produce 332 horsepower and can deliver 420 Nm or torque, reachable at 4,200 rpm. All this power makes the car go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h (the Brabus Vmax-Unit being required).

The diesel versions of the C Class are also up for some modifications, the C 200 CDI receiving the D2 kit, which increases the car's performance by 39 horsepower and increasing the C200's torque up to 385 Nm. The story changes with the C220 CDI and the D3 kit, which increases the engine's power to 195 horsepower, while delivering 450 Nm of torque. Last but not least, comes the D6 kit for the 320 CDI, which boosts the car's power by 48 horsepower, the 320 CDI now having available a torque of 590 Nm.

Sport suspensions, lowering kits, 17, 18 and 19 inch rims, Brabus usuals, are also available, but the largest wheels adaptable to the C Class are the Brabus Monoblock VI, E and S 20 inch light alloy wheels, fitted onto 235/30 ZR 20 in the front and 265/25 ZR 20 in the rear.

On the interior, the C Class receives breathable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara, ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals, and probably the Brabus logo placed in all the “right” places.
