And according to a recent statement from the Permanent Bureau of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix, Dell'Orto has been chosen for that role for a period of 3 years.
Actually, the Permanent Bureau of the FIM sounds a bit too much, as this body is comprised of only two people, namely Vito Ippolito, FIM President, and Carmelo Ezpeleta, Chief Executive Officer of Dorna Sports, the promoter of the MotoGP series.
According to the statement, Dell'Orto has been granted the contract that runs from 2012 to 2014 “based upon the analysis being carried out by the Technical Director and the Director of Technology on the different options and proposals received.”
The Italian-based Dell'Orto company specializes in the construction of carburetors and electronic injection systems and has been partnering Gilera in the FIM Road Racing World Championship in recent years.
