Dallas Love Field Airport Car Chase

After seeing a gazillion chase videos to date, it keeps on surprising us how some still live with the delusion than they can escape police and their mighty cruisers. It's not that police officers are better drivers than any one of us, but almost always there are more police cars coming after you, at times from several directions.

One of the latest attempts to escape police, complete with a chase video, comes from Texas, where a police chase which started in central Dallas ended up on the runway and then on the fields of the Love Field airport.

It all started after police spotted a silver Chevrolet pick-up truck who has been reported stolen after a robbery in Fort Worth, Texas. Obviously, the robber spotted the police too and decided to make a run for it.

Luckily for the police, the robber, 46 year old Michael Laurence Brown, is apparently not a very bright individual. For some reason, he decided to leave public roads, where police are usually reluctant to perform stopping maneuvers, and headed straight for the airport, a virtual stretch of road.

The chase on the airport grounds was brief, with the activity being shut down for only 10 minutes. One aircraft who was trying to land was forced to stay in the air until the chase was over, while ground planes were prevented from taking off.

"Although all major incidents such as this are reviewed to ensure all proper procedures were followed, it appears all the officers involved did an outstanding job to bring a dangerous pursuit to a safe end while getting a violent criminal off the streets,” a police statement cited by CNN reads.
