“It's not news that there are funds interested in investing in our company. We actually look for a partner, but want it to be and who shares our industrial development plan,”Dainese founder Lino Dainese tells Venezie Post, confirming that talks with several investment funds have been indeed carried out.
Despite some of the initial offers looking like helping Dainese head towards a good future, the company founder says that all the discussions are currently brought to a halt because of insufficient similarities between the two parties’ plans. Mr. Dainese does not specify whether the talks with the investment funds were referring to financing alone or acquisition. At the same time, de denies to reveal the names of Dainese’s potential partners.

Still Lino Dainese seems pretty confident in the future of his company as he openly declares he in fact anticipated the economic crisis back in 2000 and took precautionary measures, focusing on the development of new products and technologies. The countries in the Mediterranean region saw the motorcycle market shrinking by a whopping 70%, and Dainese’s diverse development policy seems to have paid off until now.

With 40 years of experience behind, Dainese’s latest innovation in rider safety is D-Air, an airbag system integrated into the riding gear, and which can detect when the rider is about to have an accident. So far, the Dainese D-air is the rider airbag with the fastest deployment and full inflation, setting the standard for this new branch of the safety industry. While the typical good-quality airbags need around 80 milliseconds for triggering and full inflation, the Dainese D-air system is full-inflated in 45 milliseconds.

Currently Dainese is working together with BMW for a new generation of rider airbags. This new system will first be available to racers, but will also be extended to street riding gear.
