Remember our story in September 2014 where we reported on how the Zongshen RX3 adventure bike was becoming the CSC Cyclone 250 machine in the US? The Chinese adventure quarter-liter made it into California Scooter Company’s (CSC Motorcycles) roster and has already received the EPA approval so it is in a straight line towards the dealerships.
CSC CEO Steve Seidner announces that the Cyclone 250cc will receive its first round of accessories, obviously focusing on the adventure character of the bike. Customers will be able to choose from a comprehensive list in the future, but for the moment, the offer is limited to only several items. However, they are already enough to make this bike look even cooler and add extra functionality.

The first set op optional equipment includes:
  • Larger aluminum Tourfella panniers and top case
  • Dash-mounted accessory 12V power outlets
  • Heated grips
  • Tinted windshields
  • Oil change service pack
  • Magnetic tank bag
  • Center stand and maintenance stand
  • Three different spotlight kits.

The CSC Cyclone 250cc is powered by a 249.6cc liquid-cooled single capable to deliver 24.8 hp and 16.5 lb-ft (22.4 Nm) of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, inverted forks and tube type wire spoked wheels. The MSRP is $3,495 which makes it a very interesting choice, in case the Chinese haven’t cut too many corners in the manufacturing process.

As for Mr. Seidner’s claim that the Cyclone 250 is “as good as or better than any other motorcycle on the market today, including expensive European imports that cost eight times as much as the Cyclone,” we’d take that with a pinch of salt. Or two.
