Cristiano Ronaldo's Number Plates Owned by Brit

Having Cristiano Ronaldo's ideal number plates can definitely make you a rich person during the current financial crisis.

According to The Sun, a British business man is on the point of tripling his money after getting the CR7 number plates. It seems that Cristiano Ronaldo actually made a bid for the registration number, which combines his initials with his shirt number, but the deal failed so property developer Russell Baldwin, age 49, managed to purchase it for £50,000.

Although the lucky owner of the number plates, which are currently put on a 1996 Ford Escort, claims he has already found potential wealthy buyers who would pay £150,000, he insists in selling them to the Manchester United player.

“I put the plate on the Escort for a laugh, then sent a pic to Ronaldo. I hope he gets in touch, I’d love to sell it to him. My boys are Man United mad — they’d be made-up if he came on the phone,” he confessed. The businessman has high expectations concerning Ronaldo as the footballer has already registered CR7 as a trademark for merchandising and a boutique in Lisbon.

“It could be an excellent bit of business — the plate dates back to 1903,” he added.

Well, we have no doubt that would bring big bucks to the lucky businessman, but the question is: how much? It is already known that Cristiano Ronaldo planned to fit the the ideal number plates to his  £140,000 silver Bentley convertible, so we truly wonder how much he is ready to pay for them.

And since we're speaking about record bids for number plates, DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) is expected  to raise up to  £500,000 next week when they are going to sell the plate 1 HRH. However, we highly doubt Russell will be able to raise that much for Cristiano Ronaldo's ideal number plates.
