It’s funny that we find ourselves talking about the Star Wars speeder bike one year later after we stumbled upon a rendering that had a 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat seating next to one. This, of course, was a rendering belonging to a digital artist that goes by the name Jonsibal.
There’s nothing like the famous 707-horsepower Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine, of course, but for some reason the Star Wars fan felt they match. He probably thought a real muscle car enthusiast would ride a speeder bike in the world where intergalactic travels would be possible.
We’re not leaving Earth for this Speeder, though. In fact, this Star Wars bike is as fixed to the ground as they get, considering it’s a toy designed for a one-year-old girl. The creator of this Sci-Fi rocker is a thoughtful father who decided he’d surprise his daughter with a lovely gift for her anniversary. So here’s what he did:
“I have built my son lots of projects but with my daughter's first birthday coming up I felt it was her turn to get some project love and what better way than with her own Speeder Bike?!”
For those who lack the Force, we’ll mention the 74-Z Speeder Bike is best known for its appearance in the 1983 movie. While on the forest moon of Endor, Imperial Scout Troopers engage in a vicious chase with Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa after the Rebels commandeered the speeder bikes to pursue their foes.
Since we’re sure you’re quite curious about the manufacturing process, we’ll mention that you could make one yourself. The façade of the speeder is based on the original concept drawing for the movie prop the Instructables member found online. He did, however, customize the design to suit its purpose as a child’s rocker. He was kind enough to detail each step so feel free to check it out and create one for your kid too.
