Coyote Offers Us Christmas Holiday Driving Tips

As the winter holiday season is here, motorists are starting to prepare for this year’s Christmas journeys. However, road traveling during this period can be a difficult experience, which is why Coyote, the UK’s newest speed camera alert system, is offering us a set of tips that are aimed at making sure we reach our destinations safe.

A survey that was recently perfected by Saab shows that the average British family will drive up to 207 extra miles (333 km) next week, so Coyote is urging drivers to watch their speed and plan their journeys in advance.

Here are Coyote’s tips:

• During the festive period motorists are often driving on unfamiliar roads – It is important for drivers to plan their journeys, using route planning websites.

• Many drivers will be making much longer journeys than usual this month –add young excited children into the mix and traveling over Christmas can add to driver stress levels, not normally experienced during the year. Make time to stop and plan activities to keep the children occupied and factor any potential weather warnings into an overall journey plan.

• Predicted weather conditions may well make some roads treacherous – Speed limits are designed for good road conditions, when the weather is treacherous and roads are icy, Coyote is advising drivers to allow half as much time again for their typical Christmas journey.

• Remember to adjust tire pressures – Cars often get loaded up with people, pressies and luggage at this time of the year so it’s important that a vehicle’s tire pressures are checked prior to travel.
