French carmaker Citroen has just revealed a what it says is the cleanest-burning diesel ever to roll out of its factory, a car with a name so long you’re never going to remember it all the way to the dealer’s lot - C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+.
The car packs a 70 hp 1.4-liter diesel with micro hybrid technology that only emits 87g/km. On the combined cycle, it also promises to offer an amazing 83.1mpg. The car is now available for order in the UK at the OTR MRRP of £15,290, for which you also get the C3’s panoramic windscreen as standard.
“Citroen is committed to driving down the cost of motoring and this new model is a perfect example of that. With impressive fuel economy, low CO2 emissions, a BIK rate at just 13%, free VED and the benefit of no London Congestion Charge, this stylish model is a financially and environmentally attractive addition to the Citroën range,” says Jules Tilstone, Citroen UK’s Marketing Director.
“Underlining the brand’s firm environmental commitment, a full 50% of Citroen cars sold this year emit under 130g/km of CO2 and there has been a five-gram decrease in average CO2 emissions for the European range as a whole,” continued Jules.
