We’ve said once, we’ll say it again: if you don’t know how to drive, stay away from race tracks. That’s a most useful tip. However, you need to be quite modest to figure out that you’re not as good of a driver as you think.
Most people enter race tracks thinking that driving on the street is just the same as driving on closed, professional course. This poor Subaru WRX owner found that out, the hard way.

According to his own statement written under his Youtube video, it was his first day on the track when disaster happened. After only about 20 seconds on the circuit he managed to crash into the guard rail after trying to overtake a classic Mini, on the inside line.

He also claims that the brakes were the problem on his standard WRX even though we hardly think so, judging by the video. First of all, even a Subaru’s brakes could hold on for longer than 20 seconds on a track and second, he obviously underestimated the speed he had when he tried to overtake the car in front of him.

Bottom line, we’re happy that beautiful classic Mini came out of this whole thing unscathed. Just by looking at it for a couple of seconds you can see it’s a really well preserved model, tricked out for such track days and it’s drop dead gorgeous.
