Now, the U.S. carmaker is offering us a preview of its future 200 model by releasing a set of teaser images of the mid-size sedan. These show us the front grille, a headlight and a taillight (together with the surrounding area).
The Chrysler 200 engine range will include fresh powerplants: a 2.4 liter I-4 World Gas Engine that uses either a four speed or a six speed automatic transaxle and the 3.6 liter V6 Pentastar that delivers 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a six speed automatic transaxle.
The vehicle will offer improved handling and ride quality, as it will be fitted with stiffened body mounts and softer side rate, a new suspension geometry with a raised roll center, new rear sway bar, as well as new tires. The engineers will also focus on offering a low level of noise, vibration and harshness, with one of the features used for this being the adoption of acoustic laminated glass for the windshield and front door windows.
The Chrysler 200 will be built at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan and is scheduled to hit the market by the end of the current year.
Chrysler is also working on a hybrid version of the vehicle, which was previewed by the EV 200C concept introduced at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
