Chrysler Is Good for Your Health

The importance of the work place is tremendous in the development of the man or woman occupying any given position, be it personal or professional. The security and opportunities the company any of us work for provides and offers are, basically, paramount in determining a person's path in life.

That's very poetic, we know, but, if you've seen at least one episode of the world famous “... Got Talent” show, then you know that people in general are NOT doing what they were supposed to or even want to do with their lives.

So, when a company or another is chosen by some guys none of us knows as the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award recipient, something clicks: “I don't necessarily want to do that for a living, but since I'm forced to, it'd better be a healthy work place.”

Chrysler is one such company. It and another 63 companies received this year's recognition by the National Business Group on Health as an employer of very healthy people.

The reason why Chrysler was chosen (again, because in 2010 the manufacturer achieved a similar feat) is its National Wellness Program, developed together with the UAW: health assessments, biometric screenings, workshops, campaigns and health coaching, all since 1985, as Chrysler proudly says.

"Chrysler is extremely proud to be recognized for its commitment to providing a healthy workplace and improving our employees’ health and well-being,” said Nancy Rae, executive vice president - Human Resources, Chrysler. "This award is validation of our invested efforts in our employee wellness programs."
