Chrysler Grows 48 Percent Compared to January 2010

There's nothing more pleasing for a carmaker which nearly met its maker in 2009 to see itself back on track. Under the Fiat guidance, American carmaker Chrysler announced today its sales figures for February 2010, showing a slight increase compared to the same month of 2009 and at the same time a huge 48 percent leap compared to January 2010.

More precisely, Chrysler sold 84,449 units in the US last month, while finishing the month with 197,080 units in inventory, down 44 percent compared to the same month last year.

“Chrysler Group sales were up slightly this month, in line with the industry,” Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer–Ram Brand and Lead Executive for the Sales Organization said in a release. “Compared with January, Chrysler Group’s February sales grew more than the industry average, reinforcing the company trend of steady, month-over-month growth.”

For March, the carmaker plans to keep the momentum and plans the "Truck Month." Starting today, all those who go for a 2010 model year Ram 1500 will receive a “no charge” HEMI engine, or a $500 bonus cash towards the purchase of a Ram 1500 with a 3.7l or 4.7l engine.

“The 2010 Dodge Caliber Mainstreet and Jeep Wrangler Islander vehicles are arriving at dealer showrooms now,” Diaz added. “The 2010 model year Nitro Heat, Journey Crew and Dodge Grand Caravan Hero packages are open for ordering and will soon arrive at your local Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealer.”
