BYD, short for Build Your Dreams, is slowly migrating from the laughing stock side of the automotive market towards being recognized as a serious automaker, with good products. Now, with the multitude of EVs they have planned, as well as the E6 EV, which is already in use around the world, and the planned EV manufacturing facility, in Bulgaria, their credibility is slowly rising.
However, while they may be very-into electric power, they will not neglect conventionally-powered vehicles, and therefor, they have announced the development of a new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, to place under the bonnet of their Si Rui sedan (which can be driven remotely) and S6 SUV.

The engine has yet to receive an official launch date, but the sedan debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show, last year, while the SUV has been on the market for some time. Both cars have outdated old engines (a 2.0-liter and a 2.4-liter), and the turbocharged unit will be somewhat of a revelation.
