The dust has not yet settled on the March sales figures, where Chevrolet’s extended range electric vehicle finally showed progress. Instead of the usual dismal sales figures, we got well over 2,000 vehicles delivered in a month - a new record.
As a result of the obviously increased demand, the company is going to restart the production line early. As you might have already heard by now, the plant that builds GM’s fuel saver has been hit by a five-week long production halt.

But Dan Akerson says the plant will be opened a week early, according to Bloomberg. In addition, the CEO says their new goal is 3,000 cars per month.

But March might have been a spike month, and even if they reach 3,000 per month, they would still be short of the original goal of 45,000 units in 2012.
