While most purists claim a proper hot rod needs to sport the body of vehicle built in the 1930s or 1940s, we ain’t got nothing against projects that have post WWII cars as a base. Especially if those vehicles are 1950s pickup trucks.
Like this Task Force series Chevrolet we stumbled across recently, which pays tribute to the mighty Mustang P-51 single-seat fighter with its army green paint job and shark teeth on the fenders.

Unfortunately, we know nothing about this truck and we weren’t able to find out what sort of engine is motivating it, but we do hope it’s carrying a proper V8 under the hood.

If you’re looking to take a short trip down the memory lane, these trucks were built between 1955-1960 and sold with a choice of three engines: a 235 cubic inch inline-six, a 265 V8 and a 283 V8. Chevy offered three and four-speed manual transmissions and 6-foot to 8-foot beds for it.
