The current generation of the Chevy Camaro has been with us since 2009 and next year will see the debut of the all-new, sixth-gen model, which will boast with styling cues a la Bumblebee from Transfomers and a 2-liter turbocharged powerhouse. But ’til the new one breaks cover, the golden bowtie brand unveiled the fifth-gen Camaro’s swan song.
Dubbed the Commemorative Edition, the anniversary pony is based on the 2015 model year and is packed full of goodies. Slated to go on sale early next year, the Commemorative Camaro is going to be offered with the RS pack in extensively-equipped 2LT and 2SS trims. To boot, the special edition Camaro will be available in two-door drop-top or coupe formats.
Exterior highlights include a ZL1 boot lid spoiler, unique fender emblems, a body-colored front splitter and custom 20-inch wheels and striping. Speaking of visuals, Chevrolet offers potential customers with 5 exterior aesthetic combos: the Black with Cyber Gray stripe, Silver Ice Metallic with Cyber Gray stripe, Summit White with silver stripe, Red Hot with black stripe and the Ashen Gray Metallic with silver stripe.
Stitching is also red and adorns the steering wheel, shift knob and boot, seats, door armrests and center console lid. The flat-bottom steering wheel and special sill plates are exclusive to the Commemorative Edition. Although Chevrolet is coy on figures, the interior shot shows us this Camaro is an automatic.
That means the 6.2-liter is 26 horsepower and 10 lb-ft (13 Nm) down on the six-speed manual tranny, but still, 400 ponies and a hefty 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of twist is not exactly low on horsepower and grunt.

Only range-topping SS models receive a body-color hood insert
Once you open the door of this bad boy you’re invited to hop in by an Adrenaline Red interior, which was developed only for the Commemorative Edition. Despite its cheesy moniker, the aesthetic feast is all about red and black leather seats and red instrument panel inserts.Stitching is also red and adorns the steering wheel, shift knob and boot, seats, door armrests and center console lid.
