The guys from Machete sure know how to put a car in the spotlight. They publish videos of all sorts of rides every week and we just couldn’t help but share two of them with you. After all, this is the BMW Power Blog and these are classic Bimmers.
Whether you like cars with zero ground clearance or the amazing BMW E30 M3, you sure will find something to drool over in the next minutes. That’s because the focus in these clips is on such rides. And who doesn’t like a BMW E30 M3 anyway?

First up: the BMW E21 3 Series

Whatever metaphors you’re thinking about right now they’ve already been used to describe the E30 3 Series range. But what about the one model that came before it? What about the BMW E21 3er? It’s often left in the dark because it was the one that paved the way, but its importance will never be forgotten.

Launched back in 1975, this was the ONE. This is the car that helped BMW get back on its feet. Over the years, the 3 Series became the best selling model in the Bavarians' stable, breaking sales record after sales record.

The recipe was simple: good build quality, excellent driving dynamics, reliable engines and a look that would withstand the test of time. That’s what all 3ers offer. Just look at the one in the video below and you’ll notice that even with all those added parts it’s still a stunner.

Here comes THE M3

The BMW E30 M3 wrote history in more than one way. It was the first in a long lineage and it proved that when the Motorsport geniuses got together they could really create something spectacular.

Introduced in 1985, the original M3 is still widely regarded as the one reference point in the brand’s history. And that’s today, 30 years later.

In a recent test we even saw it pitted against a brand new M3 and it was faster around a track even though it has basically half the power and even less than half the torque. The weight and perfectly balanced chassis more than made up for the lack of power under the bonnet.

The video below is a tribute not to the dynamic capacity of the E30 M3 but to its design that seems just as modern today as it was futuristic in the 1980s. Check it out!
