CGI: 2011 Chevrolet Lacetti

Just as we told you a few days ago when we finally got the hands on the first spyshots showing the 2011 Lacetti, Chevrolet is doing heavy testing on the future model of the car, as it is expected to be shown for the first time to the world in 2010. The time and location are yet to be announced but more details are likely to be revealed as we get closer to the official launch.

Still, here we have two official computer-generated images (CGIs) that give us a hint into how the future Lacetti will look like - the car was heavily camouflaged in our previous spyshots with the car.

The first things you'll notice when looking at the car are obviously the redesigned headlights, grille and front bumper. The rear end is revised as well, with larger taillamps and new rear bumper.

But the most interesting addition are the rear door handles which are somehow "hidden" in the C-pillar, similar to those of several Alfa Romeo models and the latest-generation SEAT Leon. This way, the Lacetti boasts a coupe-like appearance, although it sports four doors and offers enough room for five passengers.

As we told you in our previous coverage on the subject, Lacetti will be marketed under different names around the world, with Asians to get the new model as Suzuki Reno. Still, Europeans and North Americans will use the same Lacetti nameplate. There are a couple of other names still on the table, including Buick Excelle HRV, Chevrolet Optra and Chevrolet SRV but their destination is yet to be announced.
