For its newest exhibit, the Petersen Automotive Museum invited twelve celebrities, ranging from rock music legends, critically acclaimed film directors, actors and world renown car collector, to guest curate one sports coupe each. The World's Greatest Sports Coupes exhibit is now open, showcasing some of the most beautiful sports coupes known to man.
All the way through October 18, 2014, classic car enthusiasts are expected to cross the exhibit's gates and admire timeless automotive designs ranging from the iconic Jaguar E-Type to the all-American '63 Corvette Stingray. Each of the twelve models that made the World's Greatest Sports Coupes shortlist are displayed along with short video pieces featuring each guest curator and their personal relationship with the car that they have chosen.

The exhibit also features photography by Scott Williamson, highlighting important sports coupes that were not included by any of the celebrity curators but deserve recognition.

“Every automotive enthusiast has their list of all-time favorite cars, and for many that list is dominated by high performance sports coupes like the Jaguar E-Type,” said Jeff Curry, Brand Vice President of Jaguar. “To mark the arrival of the all-new F-Type Coupe, we are very pleased to help the Petersen present this expertly curated collection of coupes answering the question, ‘what is the greatest sports coupe of all time?’ and we hope to challenge every enthusiast to answer the question themselves.”

Without further ado, the selected sports coupes and their celebrity curators are:

"Sports coupes are the reason most of us fell in love with the automobile in the first place," said executive director of the Petersen, Terry Karges. "These vehicles represent the pinnacle of art, design, engineering and performance and have been built all over the world. Choosing a dozen sports coupes to represent the finest of the breed was no easy task, which is why we invited the world's most prominent car collectors to guest curate this exhibit. We're honored to work with all twelve of these individuals as well as with Jaguar, a company that has well earned its legacy building beautiful vehicles."

This exhibit was made possible by Jaguar in celebration of the launch of the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe.
