Watching the movie makes this story even more unbelievable. The driver enters really slow into the parking lot, heads towards some free parking spots and as soon as he tries to pull into an available parking space, the BMW X5 get really horny and jumps not one, but two parked cars. Seems to be one of the classic cases of mistaken identity: the driver mistook the acceleration with the break.
We can only guess how surprised he was seeing himself on top of two sedans. A few moments later he backs down like not much happened, takes a second to go over his alternatives and decides to make a run for it.
The hit-and-run part might have seemed like a good idea, but of course it wasn’t. The surveillance camera caught everything on tape. Busted!
This brings us to the most important hit and run rule: make sure there’s no camera. Once that’s covered, you might want to take a second and make sure no one got hurt and nobody saw you. Once that’s done, try not to get pulled over by the police. Go to the nearest unlicensed mechanic.
