Cadillac’s vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned his post at General Motors yesterday, the Detroit Free Press reports. Butler became the brand’s vice president of global strategic development in April, when he was shifted from Cadillac vice president of US marketing.
According to a company spokesman, Cadillac global boss Bob Ferguson asked Butler to continue with the company, but the exec went on to resign. “As I’ve told others, I just need to take a step back to recalibrate, reassess my priorities,” Butler said in a statement. “I know it’s time for a change but I don’t know what’s next. I'm trusting that God will provide.”
Butler’s resignation comes just a few weeks after General Motors fired Cadillac’s US sales chief Chase Hawking over violation of company policy and a couple of months after Susan Docherty, head of Cadillac Europe, announced her intention to leave the automaker effective September 30.
