Button's Father Forgot Where He Parked "Stolen" Ferrari Testarossa

We know that age usually comes with loss of memory (and several other attributes that we don't really care for) and forgetting where you parked your car is part of the game. We have to admit it happens to all of us, regardless of age, so one cannot really blame Jenson Button's father for doing it a few days ago.

However, when we heard that Button Sr. - a regular presence in the Formula One paddock through the last couple of years – is driving a Ferrari Testarossa, we kinda' raised out eyebrows.

According to the ANSA news agency, the 65-year old forgot where he parked his sports car. So what did he do? He reported it stolen in the coastal town of Alassio. After a few hours of searching throughout the region, the Ferrari was located near the beach at the nearby town of Laigueglia, which is no more than a 5 minute drive from Alassio.

In the initial report filed by John Button, he said that his car had been stolen in Alassio from outside the luxurious Grand Hotel Mediteranee. When the car was found however, it showed no signs of tampering. So we're not sure what should we put our money on: age or too much celebration the night before.

Driving fast cars is however a habit for Button's father, as the man used to be a rallycross driver back in the 1970s. Despite some so and so results in national rallycross championships, John Button is being remembered until this day as the driver at the wheel of the Colorado Beetle Volkswagen (his rally car features striking paintwork).
