The Italian performance brake producer Brembo is expanding its collaboration with General Motors, with the first set to provide the calipers for the new Cadillac ATS and XTS.
The parts will be produced at the Brembo site in Homer, Michigan, which has received an upgrade in order to sustain the development.Cadillac has important plans for the ATS, as it will market the car as dynamic and fun to drive, so it needs to be able to rely on serious stopping power and here is where Brembo enters the stage.
Brembo and GM joined forces back in 2004, when the Italian company was selected to supply the brakes for the range-topping CTS-V. Brembo was named “supplier of the year” and the two companies developed a complex relationship.
