Brawn GP Confirm Deal with Willans Harnesses

Brawn GP have confirmed a new partnership for the ongoing 2009 season in Formula One, this time with world's leading brand of racing harnesses Willans. Official team suppler inside the series, Willans is manufactured by UK based Stockbridge Racing and has been a constant player on the safety equipment market in all motor racing series through the last 4 decades.

We are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with Willans to use their racing harnesses in the Brawn-Mercedes cars this season. Driver safety is absolutely paramount in Formula One and the sport is continually taking steps to improve our safety record,” said Ross Brawn in a press release, ahead of this weekend's race at Barcelona.

We are very proud to be working closely with one of the most successful and dedicated harness manufacturers in motorsport,” added Brawn.

Simon Perkins, Managing Director of Stockbridge Racing added: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the official harness supplier for Brawn GP. Whilst our harness is already the lightest of its specification in Formula One, we look forward to working closely with the team in our continual quest for lighter and safer driver equipment.”

We would like to thank Brawn GP and Jenson Button for helping us to achieve the milestone of 250 Grands Prix victories using Willans harnesses,” said Perkins.

Willans has so far recorded no less than 252 wins in Formula One, throughout the 19 seasons during which they've supplied safety equipment for the majority of teams in the Great Circle. Other motor racing programmes in which the UK-manufactured harnesses have been a front runner are NASCAR, the IndyCar Series and several other rallying competitions.
