We’re sad whenever an exotic ride is crashed and we get even more troubled when we hear about cars like the BMW Z8, which has been of the marker for a decade, being involved in accidents.
The world currently holds a total of 5,703 Z8s and one of them has recently been seriously damaged in a crash. The accident took place last week, on a road in the proximity of Rambach, Germany.
According to the German Police report, the vehicle was driven by a 30 year old man last Monday, who lost control, crashed into an embankment and ended upside down in a ditch as you can see in the adjacent images.
The actual cause of the accident remains unknown, but the vehicle was using red German plates, the kind that are usually placed by dealers on test drive vehicles, which means that the driver might have not been familiar with the 400 hp car, which, by the way, was on summer tires in February.
Fortunately, the driver wasn’t injured in the accident. As for the car, police estimates that the damage resulted from the crash is worth around EUR50,000 (USD66,133 at the current exchange rates).
