We've said it before and we'll say it again: as the vast majority of surfaces out there, the Nurburgring is slippery when wet. However, it seems like many drivers can't seem to understand how the laws of physics work, which is how we end up with tons of Green Hell crashes.
Fortunately, the stressful episode we're here to discuss was not an accident, but a near crash. It all involves a BMW Z4 Coupe, whose driver failed to keep his distance from the Opel Zafira safety car ahead. The two met at the entry of Adenauer Forst. And while the people mover had already taken a very wide line to avoid getting in the way of 'Ring tourists, the BMW driver approached the Opel as if the track was dry.

The Z4 ended up understeering and almost hitting the Zafira, with the Opel's driver even swerving to avoid getting touched by the Bimmer keep in mind that only a few inches separated the two cars during the intense moment. And this is how the Ring vehicle ended up having to go through Adenauer Forst like an amateur (read: on the green side of the track).

Those of you who are in a hurry should know the action described above starts around the 3:00 mark. Nevertheless, you should know the six-minute clip brings plenty of attention-worthy moments.

For instance, the slippery-when-wet rule mentioned above can sometimes catch even the most experienced of drivers out. When it comes to this piece of footage, the example is provided by another BMW, this time a Ring Taxi. And you'd expect its driver to know his way around the Nordschleife, right?

Oh well, at least all the drivers shown in this video manage to get round the Nurburgring without crashing, a feat that shouldn't be taken lightly.
