Once the new BMW X6 came out, tuners around the world started looking at it with a magnifying glass, trying to see where they could bring improvements. One of the first that brought a take on it on the internet was Lumma Design.
Initially shown as a rendering, the CLR X 6 R model was impressive to say the least. Now it’s time to take a look at it in the metal and we have to say we’re not all that excited about it. Don’t get us wrong, we appreciate the hard work the tuner has done but it seems to us like their version of the X6 is just too busy.
Too many add-ons, too much emphasis on the aggressive character of the car and too many exhaust pipes made this a turn off for us and out BMW-loving feelings.
The body kit is made of a front spoiler, new side skirts, an engine hood with various colors, roof spoiler, rear spoiler lip, rear wing made of carbon (this is optional) and stripes in black and red.
Inside the cabin, you’re greeted by a new aluminum pedal set, leather floor mats, and boot mat. Of course, you couldn’t have missed the daytime running lights on the outside that were done with optic fiber, the fog light kit on the bottom of the front bumper, the hood emblem and the kidney grilles made from carbon fiber.
On the technical side of things, the engine remained stock but the suspension has been changed with a set of springs that are available only for cars fitted with a self-leveling suspension that can lower the front axle by an impressive 45 mm and the rear one by 40 mm.
In terms of wheels and brakes, you can get a new setup from Lumma Design, their offer being a set of 22 inches (10 inches wide on the front and 12 inches wide at the back) rims and red-painted calipers all around.
Finally, the exhaust system was changed as well, as you can very well see, in the typical Lumma Design fashion, migrating from a dual-pipe setup to a quad one, with all of the pipes grouped together in the middle of the rear bumper, in different sizes: 2x100 mm and 2x80 mm.
