BMW just announced that, starting this spring, the F15 BMW X5 and all 650i models (Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe) will get more standard kit.
For the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) this is a matter of pride within the segment. The new models will be getting the Driving Assistant system for free starting with March.

The Driving Assistant includes such features like Lane Departure Warning and Collision Warning. The former uses cameras to detected when the driver steers of the lane unintentionally and makes the steering wheel vibrate to warn him or her. The latter detects vehicles and pedestrians in front of the car and initiates a visual and acousting warning when there is imminent risk of collision, even braking if needed.

For the 650i models the Bavarian company decided to offer the M Sport exhaust system as standard, all forecoming models being fitted with it from the assembly lines. Whether you'll order a Coupe, Convertible or Gran Coupe, your new car will have a brand new sound.

Furthermore, for all 6 Series models (not just the 650i), the Harkman Kardon optional system will be available as of spring 2014.
