The November Guangzhou Auto Show is set to host the unveiling of the Zinoro 1E model, a car built by the Brilliance-BMW joint venture in China, based on the BMW X1 (not that hard to notice, right?).
The new sub-brand is set to bring even more premium quality to the Chinese people under a new name, based on BMW technology. However, you might wonder what does the '1E' stand for.
The 1 comes from the car it's based on, the X1, whilst the 'E' is meant to symbolize the energy used by this car to move around, electricity. Yes, you read it right, the first Zinoro car will be electric.
Looking over what is currently happening in Chinese cities these days, it's obvious that EVs make a lot of sense, in the ongoing war against smog. The car is rumored to be priced way under what BMW is asking for one of their cars: CNY400,000 (USD65,000) before the eco grants the government is offering.
