2013 was a great year for BMW. Apart from breaking sales records over the last 12 months, the designers from Munich were also praised, winning various awards, the latest coming from the Chicago Athenaeum in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies.
The aforementioned institutions are handing out GOOD DESIGN Awards for outstanding work in the field and this year, BMW went home with 5 of them for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, MINI Paceman, BMW R1200GS and BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe models as well as for “The BMW Concept Ninety Story” film. Whilst the latter award was won in the “Graphics/Identity/Packaging” section, the rest were awarded in “Transportation”.

For 2013, the jury received thousands of submissions from around the world. Overall, more than 700 high-quality products were picked out, covering a wide range of categories. The complete list of the winners will be published in the 2013/2014 GOOD DESIGN yearbook.
