BMW M5 E60 Tuned in the Virtual World

The BMW E60 generation of the BMW M5 is now out of production. In fact, the Internet is flooded with rumors and spyshots connected to the successor of the German Power War fighter. We are talking about the F10 BMW M5, a vehicle that will ditch the naturally aspirated 5 liter V10 engine of the E60 for a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8, which will be borrowed from the X5M/X6M.

Of course we are dying to see what the new soldier can do on the battlefield, but we kind of got emotionally involved with the E60 M5 and just can’t let it go. Yes, we know, the new forced induction unit will not only be more powerful but also more efficient than the engine it replaces, but it will lack one important asset: linear power delivery.

Yes, we are sure that BMW’s engineers have made substantial efforts to reduce the turbo lag and so on, but the engine will never be able to come with the linear power curve of a naturally aspirated unit.

Moving on, we’ve decided to search the web for a modification package that would build on the E60 M5’s stock assets, without taking things too far. As tuners haven’t brought us anything new lately, we turned to virtual modifications.

Having found the project you see in the adjacent image, we wanted to share it with you. There are certain bits that we don’t like (such as the side skirts), but we really love the majority of tuning goodies, such as the front bumper. Enjoy!
