While most BMWs are renowned for their extremely competent reliability records, it seems that the new 4.4-liter turbocharged engine which powers the M5, M6, X5M and X6M has its fair share of serious problems.
However, since it is an all-new unit, and not a tried and tested block like most of their engines, it is therefore understandable why some problems would creep up.

Well, now, all BMW M5 and M6 owners from the US have been urged to stop driving their cars, as there is a slight possibility that the V8’s oil pump may experience a sudden loss of pressure, which would seriously damage the engine’s insides.

BMW have already started the procedure to call back all the affected cars, while those cars which were supposed to be delivered to customers, now have to wait for the fix to be applied, before being sent off.
