Amongst the cars BMW will be bringing to the 2013 IAA, in Frankfurt, you'll spot the brand new 4 Series, the F15 X5, the Concept5 eDrive X5 and the BMW Active Tourer Concept. However, the world premiere will belong to the i3.
Even though it was unveiled almost a month ago, the i3 didn't partake in any Auto Show in its short life up until now. BMW is set to break that rule and allow the new all-electric vehicle to show its face at the 2013 IAA.

The BMW i3 is the world's first premium car conceived from the ground up to provide all-electric mobility. Its electric motor provides 170 HP using power supplied by the lithium-ion battery pack mounted in a low, central position in the car's underbody.

The BMW i3 is based on a new kind of vehicle architecture. The LifeDrive concept underpins the car’s visionary form, which is defined by a standalone design language and generous levels of space for all four seats.

The most impressive fact about the i3 is probably that its sustainability is running through the whole manufacturing chain. For example, the carbon fibers for the passenger cell are manufactured using hydro power alone, while the Leipzig plant (that makes all the CFRP) is powered 100 percent by purpose-built wind turbines.
