As stated before the Geneva Motor Show even began, the Bavarian company brought its newest creations at the Swiss event, the BMW i3 and the BMW i8.
The BMW i3 that was put up for display was in Coupe. We've already grown used to the i3's looks but somehow, every time we see this city car it doesn't cease to amaze us.

The car's design is futuristic as every concept is but, the interesting thing about BMW's new i series is the fact that the production versions will look a lot like the concepts. That resemblance isn't to impress the masses and make them buy the car for its looks, it's done because the propeller badged manufacturer uses a lot of new materials and technologies that give the car this futuristic look and feel. It's all about practicality and not about looks.

We now know that the i3 will have new high voltage Lithium-Ion batteries that will be less sensitive to temperature variations and that BMW will also offer a range extender option for those concerned about the car's autonomy. That range extender is actually a 2-cylinder gasoline engine that will be used to charge the car's batteries.
