BMW Group Posts Record July Sales

After Audi reported its bast sales figures ever for the month of July, BMW now does the same, announcing a 7.6 percent increase during he same period. The Group delivered 129,094 vehicles in total to customers across the globe, cementing its reputation as a premium car company. What’s more, over the first seven month of the year, deliveries grew 17.9 percent to 962,468 vehicles.

“We have just reported the most successful July sales ever and we are well on our way to achieving our recently announced target of over 1.6 million vehicles in 2011, the best ever sales result for the BMW Group. We are clearly benefiting from a very attractive product line-up which is finding success with customers right across the globe,” said Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and Marketing.

The company again reported strong growth in China, where 36.1% more vehicles were sold last month, while US shore saw 11.7 percent more cars made by the BMW Group being delivered.

The the home market of Germany, a total of 23,212 new BMW and MINI vehicles were registered in July, which was about on the same level as the previous year.

With 9,762 units sold in July, the X3 almost tripled its sales for the month compared to a year ago, while its smaller brother was less impressive, with 10,786 X1 models being delivered in the same period, an increase of 22.6 percent.

MINI continued on its way to a record year with solid growth across all continents in July, announcing 20,153 vehicles delivered during the period, an increase of 10.5 percent.
