With over 20 years of experience, Akrapovic creates world class exhaust systems used in high-performance vehicles around the world. Thinking they have to be on to something, the owner of this M3 decided to take his car to EAS and see what they might come up with.
The end result completely changed the Bimmer. They went for an Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System that was initially intended just for racing cars. However, due to the high demand of the market, a modified version was created for road-legal vehicles.
The system consists of flow optimized link pipes with 2x100 cell sports catalysts, integrated resonators and completely new split-end mufflers. Made completely out of titanium, the new exhaust is 50 lb (22 kg) lighter than the stock version.
Akrapovic claims that for the M3, power gains are rated at 24 HP and 25 lb-ft (34 Nm) of torque, starting with 2,500 RPM. Furthermore, they say that the engine will also be stronger at high RPM and that the elasticity is improved considerably. Well, with a price tag of over $6,000 (€4,600) they'd better be right.
