For quite some time now, European dealerships started taking orders for the new i3, determining BMW to consider increasing the production of its first EV ever made. However, the US market was silent up until now.
That's because US dealerships didn't start taking orders yet. That means that the 8,000 units that are already ordered come from the old continent. Quite impressive.
According to Inside EVs, dealerships around the US will start taking orders in November, quoting Jacob Harb, Head of Electric Vehicle Operations at BMW USA. That means we'll soon be seeing news saying that BMW increased production levels for the i3.
The only problem is that deliveries will start in the Spring, next year, a bit disappointing for those really anxious to get their hands on the new all electric city vehicle. Prices for the i3 in the States begin at USD41,350 without any federal or state incentives and without the Range Extender that will set you back another USD3,850.
