BMW has chosen a new ambassador who will represent the brand in Australia, in the person of master chef George Calombaris.
Recently, Calombarid took some his chef suit off and jumped straight into an M3 cabrio, enjoying the M Power experience. The chef, 31 years old, has a vast awards portfolio. In 2004, the Global Food and Wine Magazine chose him as one of the Top 40 Chefs of Influence in the World and in 2008 he won the “Chef of the Year” title, awarded by The Age’s Good Food Guide.
Following the signing of the partnership, Calombaris will become BMW’s official caterer, so the brand’s clients will be able to enjoy the chef’s creations during key events such as model launches, the BMW Golf Cup and the BMW Caulfield Cup.
“BMW Group Australia is very excited to have George Calombaris on board,”, says BMW managing director, Stavros Yallouridis. “With his distinctive approach to both business and food, George shares and encompasses a number of BMW brand values including innovation, creativity and youthfulness,”, added Yallouridis.
Calombaris has a small network of bespoke restaurants in Melbourne: three locations have already opened (including his flagship venue, The Press Club) and the forth will be inaugurated in October this year.
“I’m certainly looking forward to a very close working relationship with BMW. I’ve always had the utmost respect for BMW as a brand and you can’t help but have complete admiration for their outstanding vehicles,” said George Calombaris.
