Few people though the X5 was a good idea when it was launched, and even fewer believed in the merits of the X6, but here they both are, strutting their stuff next to posh cafes and in the parking lots of every major football team.
The appeal of the a BMW SUV goes beyond the practical and logical side of thins and into the world of crossover coupes. That’s what the Bavarians must have been thinking when they gave the green light to a baby brother for the X6, to be called the X4.

The news comes from BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, who said that the company wants to position an X4 above the X3 in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport. He also added that the engine range from the X3 will be carried over. The only major difference will the the much reduced trunk size, which you’ll have to put up with if you want a crossover coupe with compact proportions.
