The BMW 330i Sport Collection version launches in Australia, and pricing starts at AUD89,900 ($56,763) - a far cry from the 2024MY 330i from America, which starts at $44,500 or $46,500 with or without xDrive.
The Bavarian automaker introduced the 3 Series line of compact executive models in 1975, and almost half a century later, we have seen no less than seven generations pass by, in coupe, convertible, sedan, and station wagon form mostly. The current iteration, titled G20 for the ICE-powered versions and G28 for the i3 variant produced in China, has already gone through the LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) procedure – BMW's name for a facelift – last year.

However, the company is very interested in keeping the hype at the same level this year, too, at least in Australia. As such, the local division just launched the new BMW 330i Sport Collection in the Land Down Under to offer a "unique specification with a comprehensive array of styling and convenience elements." It follows in the footsteps of the X3 Sport introduced earlier this year, and the pricing is – as always – around the level of an arm and a leg.

Alas, the German brand is keen on emphasizing that their Sport Collection models showcase a "compelling proposition for customers with an optimized equipment offering while retaining the renowned performance and efficiency of BMW powertrains at a revised price point." As such, the 330i Sport Collection includes standard perks such as metallic paint, a sunroof, front seat heating, and M high-gloss Shadow Line. The sole powertrain available is the 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo (B48) engine rocking 255 hp, 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), and a sprint time of 62 mph (100 kph) of just 5.5 seconds with AWD.

The standard features include a choice of Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, Mineral White M Portimao Blue, M Brooklyn Grey or Skyscraper Grey paints, Driving Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go, sport front seats, Black or Cognac Sensatec upholstery, the M Sport package plus 19-inch M alloy wheels and Blue-caliper M Sport brakes, adaptive M suspension, plus the LED Headlights with High Beam Assistant.

Additionally, inside, the 330i Sport Collection is well prepared for any leisure or business trips with the BMW Head-Up Display, the Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 8, BMW Digital Key, electric adjustment for the front heated seats, wireless smartphone charging, Parking Assistant Plus, and more. What it lacks is pretty easy to spot – it doesn't have the divisive front-end design as seen on the M3 sedan and Touring (plus the 4 Series and all the M4 siblings), so perhaps this compact executive four-door is for those who just want to blend in rather than stand out in the wrong kind of crowds.
