The BMW 1er hatch is the sort of car many dream of but few can afford. BMW's compact is a lot more expensive than a normal hatch like a VW Golf. The reason: rear wheel drive architecture and more premium features. Even if they decide to pay extra for the F20 because of the promise of driving thrills, most people end up with something like this, the 118d.
Equipped with the least powerful 2-liter diesel BMW makes, the 118d is still reasonably powerful, with an output of 143 hp. However, there is a way to get 120d levels of power without paying the huge markups BMW demands.

Chip tuning specialists Digiservices have played with the engine management of the N47D20 engine and got 188 hp. What's more, torque has been boosted from 300 Nm to 412 Nm. The second video you'll below shows another 118d that's had its particle filter removed. The result is 193 hp and 409 Nm of torque.
