The new BMW platform, the UKL, is the starting point for many of the future cars developed by the Munich based company. One of those cars is the 1 Series GT, the direct competitor for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class.
At the moment, we know little about the new Bimmer. We know that it will be front wheel drive (and all wheel drive as optional), it will be based on the Active Tourer Concept (unveiled at Paris last September) and it will be a luxurious, smaller version of the BMW SUVs for the weekend or a second car.

As we can see from the spyshots published by our friends over at Jokeforblog, the future development of the car seems promising design-wise. The production car will be really close to the concept. The LED lights will be available as well as the side cameras (as optional equipment, of course). The front bumper looks a lot like the Concept and the headlights are almost identical.

The rear looks a lot like the Active Tourer, the taillights being identical and the tailgate looking strangely familiar. We can be almost sure that the final design of the 1er GT will resemble the Active Tourer Concept's but the final production car might bring some surprises.
