Bentley Continental Flying Star Teased Before Geneva

It’s been quite a year for the super car segment, as several automakers decided to enrich their line-ups with new models or versions that would further improve their image in the eyes of worldwide consumers. As two-seater cars have the disadvantage of leaving no room for a family, golf clubs or a dog, super fast sedans were launched.

Porsche presented its Panamera, which instantly became a sales hit, Aston Martin grabbed a few beauty awards with its Rapide, and Lamborghini seems to have a four door supercar in the works. As British car manufacturer Bentley already has sedans in its line up, it decided to build something more like... a station wagon.

Bentley’s project is called Continental Flying Star by Touring and will be presented at the Geneva motor show next month. Just to get our imagination going, they released today the first teaser. The Flying Star was designed by Touring Superleggera design studios. The car is based on the Continental GTC chassis and is said to "combine the functionality and elegance of the shooting brake body with the driving experience of Bentley."

Only 20 Continental Flying Star models will be built, with the price still being a secret. Bentley should have no problem selling them, despite the price tag which will surely go way over the £156,800 of the Continental GTC Speed.

The Continental Flying Star will feature foldable individual rear seats, which can create a plain loading space over two metres long, steel rear wings, extended roof paneling, aluminum door skins and an all-alloy, electric powered tailgate, said autocar.co.uk. Just like the other Bentleys, the Star will be powered by the supercharged W12 6-liter engine.
