Sorry to say, there's little we can tell you about Avera Motors, and we are pretty confident many of you didn't hear about the Rockledge-based carmaker until now. But that is about to change, if we are to trust what Avera is saying about their future car.
Cleverly wrapped in a shroud which brings our imagination to the boiling point, the yet unnamed prototype promises to be pretty much revolutionary. Avera admits it has been working on it for years now, “below the radar” (now we know why we didn't hear much about them until now) and says there will be still a few more months until we learn more.
So, what do we know about it, then? Supposedly, it looks great, has a supercar-like handling, an affordable price and, hold on, efficiency which is better then that of the champion of the hybrids, the Toyota Prius.
“At Avera we strongly feel you shouldn’t have to compromise on driving enjoyment, style, or price while getting great fuel-economy,” R.J. Scaringe, Avera CEO says on the company's website.
That's about it, for now. There are, of course, more unanswered questions than certainties about the car and the start-up that will manufacture it. We will follow the story though, so rest assured you'll learn all you need to know as soon as more info becomes available. Until then, we leave you with the teaser released by Avera.
Twist it, bend it, blur it, clear it and see what you make of it. We, for one, are looking forward to seeing the car whose exciting lines stand out from under the shroud.
