Avarth Punto Evo esseesse Now Available in Britain

Instead of bringing a completely new Punto to the market, Fiat chose to substantially revive it, introducing the Punto Evo in 2009. The Italian carmaker’s in-house tuner revealed soon got its hands on the car and brought forth the Abarth version of the car to the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

From then on, it only took them half a year to boost the power from 160 hp to 180 hp and produce the esseesse-badged version, which made its debut in Paris last year.

The wait is over for British customers wanting to get their hands on a right-hand drive version of the car, as the esseesse’s 1.4 liters of fun is available for around £3,000 added to the cost of a standard Abarth Punto Evo £16,852 OTR. We say that because Abarth’s pricing differs slightly from region to region, due to fitting labour costs.

As we’ve mentioned, the esseesse badge means that the Abarth Punto Evo packs 180 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft). These figures allow the hatch to leave the 62 mph mark behind in 7.5 seconds and offer a top speed of 134 mph (216 km/h).

The car comes with special features, such as a distinctive paint called Campovolo Grey, 18 inch alloy rims that use a esseesse design and a titanium finish. The interior of the car has been fitted with Abarth Corse by Sabelt seats that use a black leather finish. The model also offers an Abarth Blue&Me MAP satellite navigation system that comes with a telemetrics system co-developed with Magneti Marelli.

said Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth in the UK. “Now the esseesse conversion will take it to an extra level for customers wishing to realise their car’s full potential.”
