Audi Sponsors Birds of Prey Men's Alpine World Cup

The American division of German manufacturer Audi announced today it has decided to come back to preside over the Men's Alpine World Cup ski race as the title sponsor. The event, officially titled Audi Birds of Prey Men's Alpine World Cup, will take place between December 3 and 5 at Beaver Creek in Vail, Colorado.

This is the only men's World Cup stop in America, lining up top athletes in the sport. The competition includes Downhill, Super G and Giant Slalom.

“As a returning sponsor, Audi will continue to support U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's (USSA) talented athletes while supplying Audi vehicle transportation in the United States and Europe for all USSA teams including Alpine, Cross Country, Freestyle, Nordic Combined, and Ski Jumping,” says the German manufacturer about its involvement in the event.

This is not the only skiing event Audi will sponsor this year. The four rings of the Audi logo will adorn banners at the Women's Alpine World Cup (Aspen Winternational, Nov. 27 - 28) and Denver FIS Big Air (January. 26 - 27).

The German carmaker has been an active partner of the skiing world this year, having signed a four-year sponsorship agreement with the German Ski Federation, along with commissioning and shooting the "Truth in Motion: The U.S. Ski Team's Road to Vancouver" documentary.

The documentary followed the American athletes through the preparations for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and is centered around the technology and willpower which make the athletes go forward. The film is directed by Brett Morgen, the man behind documentaries like The Kid Stays in the Picture and On the Ropes.
