The Audi S3 Sportback will now be available in Australia with the S Tronic dual clutch transmission, to match the 2.0l TFSI engine. Prices for the version of the S3 equipped with this gearbox start at $71,010 and the models are already available for order.
The S Tronic transmission allows the time required for the S3 to accelerate from naught to sixty to be reduced. Whereas up until now the car needed 5.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h, now, thanks to the S Tronic, it only needs 5.4 seconds.
The transmission helps it accelerate faster, and the two-tenths of a second can make all the difference when trying to outrun a road train. And since you are no longer in control of gear shifting, the S Tronic does allow for fuel consumption to stand at 8.4l/100 km (combined cycle), 0.01l less than without the S Tonic.
The S3 Sportback S Tronic could be a good choice, if you are into DSG transmissions, especially because it is mated to the 2.0l TFSI engine, voted four times as being the engine of the year. And it's friendlier to the environment, too. CO2 emissions are a few tree-saving grams less than in the previous versions, standing at 195g/km.
Cruising through the great outback is constantly watched over by safety features such as ESP, traction control, electronic differential lock and of course the already familiar airbags. being an S, the S3 comes with all those little things which make you stand out: S design multi-function leather sports steering wheel, BOSE speaker system, aluminum pedals, S3 door sill strips, S design 18 inch alloy wheels and Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights are all there as standard.
