Some say the new S1 supermini is a sacrilege on Audi's part, misusing an iconic badge on a tarted up VW Polo. That's not really true though. Not only is this brand new model cool to look at, but it's also wickedly fast and relevant.
You see, when the S2 was launched all those eons ago, it came with a 2.2-liter turbocharged engine developing 230 PS. The power of an icon can now be had in a little car measuring only 4 meters.
This next clip from Audi is them saying "look, we the S1 is not too advanced to have a little fun". For some unknown reason, it's set in the Big Apple and features non-identical twins, a red 5-door and a yellow 3-door hatch. Both of their drivers are keen on swapping cogs and playing games, all in the name of showing us what the S1 can do and what it's been equipped with.
This side of a MINI JCW, there isn't another that's so brash, so effervescent. I bet our American readers are getting tired of reading about cars they can't buy. So what do you say Audi, are you guys bringing a little quattro magic to the New York Auto Show?
